An awards event inside the Science Museum, produced throughout in ReBoard, a sustainable paper-based board. One material for the whole build.

PA Consulting runs the Raspberry Pi Awards, and the 2022 event was held at the Science Museum in London in May. The brief was an awards presentation and reception inside a working museum, with the sustainability of the build treated as a requirement rather than a preference. Pie Factory’s answer was to produce the entire event in one material: ReBoard, a sustainable paper-based board.
The whole event was produced in ReBoard. ReBoard is a paper-based board made from recycled fibres and recyclable in the same stream as ordinary paper. It cuts flat, takes direct print, and builds up into rigid structures without a frame, which is what makes a single-material event build possible rather than a claim. Used as the only build material, it removes the usual mix of timber, composite panel, vinyl and fixings from a build, and with it the usual end of life problem: at the end of the event the build is paper.
A heritage museum building sets limits on what can be fixed to floors, walls and structures. Access and build windows in a museum have to revolve around public opening hours. Floor loading limits apply in galleries holding collections.
The event was produced 100% in ReBoard by local suppliers at the Science Museum in London in May 2022.
