Drift Pursuit ran on Spike Island in Cork Harbour in July 2025, reachable only by water. About 1,400 people attended. Red Bull asked Pie Factory to assess the event's sustainability and measure its carbon footprint.
A full sustainability impact assessment with recommendations for Red Bull, alongside a complete carbon footprint. We tracked logistics, materials, energy, travel, catering and waste across all 42 suppliers.
Everything arrived by ferry or barge. 42 suppliers worked to a fast schedule, and 100% responded to our data request.
The event footprint was 33.55 t CO2e.
The transport barge accounted for 12.6 t, or 37.5%.
99% of production materials by weight were rented or reused. New material came to 52 kg: signage, blackout netting, wristbands, lanyards and meal tokens.
All generators ran on HVO. The 1,000 litres used avoided over 2.5 t CO2e.
Suppliers that needed logistics were all Ireland-based, travelling 150 km on average.
Vegan food was served at every crew meal over the two days. Biobands were compostable.
The event produced 1.8 t of waste.
